Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to hear from people about the 8th Division. Particularly WW2 vets whom I actively seek. I am just fiendishly busy and it can take a while to get back to you.
if you have material from the 8th Div or 28th Regt from any time period for sale PLEASE let me know.
If you are writing to ask why there is not more on this site, the answer is time- and my lack of it. I have started working with some very nice people who are volunteering to turn text files into a computer readable format, so maybe will have some progress soon.
If you are asking for more info on the 8th or a sub unit- There is really not much I can say except you'll have to either wait for us to get some of the official histories up here, or take a trip to the National Archives in Washington to look at the official records. Feel free to ask though as I might just have a contact from the unit you need. As for getting copies of the books- sorry, they are tough. That's why we feel the best thing to do is turn the official histories into files here for all to access. If you want to help with this project by all means drop me a line.
If you desire more info on a specific person- that's real tough. You first need to have either a serial number, or even better a discharge. There are no easy ways to find info on a specific guy, and my passion to learn about my father has led to a lifetime quest and a number of book written.
If you've got info, or photos, or memories about the Brittany Campaign I am in need of them for my next book.
